It was my senior in the fourth year of University, after I earned a lifeguard certification and joined the NTU lifeguard club and put some extra efforts on other technical skills. Not only do lifeguards need to perform CPR, but also enforce some lifesaving skills in order to prevent incidents and keep everybody safe, especially in some difficult situations.
The first course I joined was to undertake
an IRB course (IRB: inflatable Rescue Boats) in Drunken Moon Lake, which
located on the campus of NTU. I learned how to operate surf rescue boat and
understood the common international communicating signal between the boat and
shore. As a driver of starboard, I should master any condition and has
confidently turns in both direction, practiced a lot of the figure “0” and
figure “8” on the small lake. Once, I was having a fun birthday party on the
lake with kayaking, the small cake place on the kayak. I felt happiness when I
celebrated my first birthday on the lake.
After few months later, there was an
amazing activity driving my curiosity, which is lifesaving rope. The X-rope
team organized the training course in my department building. I have an
opportunity to learn how to tangle the rope and how to transfer the rope from
building to building.
