About my dream job

    

   

     When I was 15 years old, I participated in the St. John extracurricular activities in high school.  I have to be trained as a volunteer to deliver health and community services. My duty is to provide help and support to communities and saved lives through first aid kits. The outdoor activities including providing first aid at concerts in National Stadium, taking care elderly in hospitals,s or teaching orphans in orphanages. Since then, I like nursing because it gave me growth opportunities. I feel happy when giving necessary support by holding the hands of victims who have just experienced injuries. Actually, it gave me an inner peace that I was able to help somebody. The nurse is my dream job when I was 17 years old.

    After graduated from high school, I proposed to study nursing courses in Taiwan but was rejected by my mother. She said: " Who wants to make less money but more stress with this tiring job? However, she encouraged me to study medicine degree, therefore I had an opportunity to study abroad. Unfortunately, my results of preuniversity cannot satisfy the requirements for a medicine degree, later I choose to learn an engineering course at National Taiwan University.

    My dream kept going on until I graduated with a bachelor's degree, I joined the lifeguard community group. Become a lifesaver, has a responsibility to perform any water-based rescue and perform resuscitation and first aid. The advanced lifesaving courses are including kayak, surf rescue board... and etc.

Describe my job

    I'm currently working as a Research & Development engineer in the semiconductor industry. Almost ten years, I really like my job, I don't think there is a lot more room for growth here, I've been thinking about exploring new opportunities. However, I prefer a more stable and more convenient one which nearby my home, therefore I am still here.

    I like a number of things about my job. One of the main reasons is that it is still challenging, so there is never a dull moment. I am given a lot of responsibility and I have to make important decisions regularly. I also become a good counselor for my customer in giving a lot of assembly knowledge and providing a better solution to solve some issues.

    However, there is always room for improvement, and my department is no exception.  The frequent team meetings to support collaboration are very important to reduce miscommunications or avoid mistakes before making a key decision. Training or knowledge sharing also is essential for our job improvement.

    How about my dream job? I will tell you tomorrow..haha, I am going to hit my sacks.

R & D :

My name is christine. I am an engineer from research & design departure. my job is to design semiconductor package structures to the client’s specifications. I’m responsible for the whole design process, so I have to take the client’s ideas and turn them into a finished product. most of my time is spent experimenting with different designs and ideas and seeing what looks good because attention to detail is important in this kind of work. otherwise, I also can be an adviser to select the advanced material or process for dedicated innovative package design.

Marketing sales

my name is Fany. I’m the marketing manager here. my job is to analyze and interpret market and customer information for strategy development. my job is to generate a unique sales plan, develop pricing strategies, and to offer satisfying human resources. given the breadth of enhancements in A project, I am incorporating additional validation time prior to production release, which will streamline the deployment process for our customers and partners.

my name is terry. I’m the process integration engineer, who is the coordinator that provides process integration engineering expertise to semiconductor manufacturing. I also need to consolidate customer requirements for specific customized applications and cooperates with process engineers internally to ensure and improve production yield.

I’m the process engineer, who is responsible to minimize the process variations and excursions in the product manufacturing process so as to maximize the production yield. my major responsibility is composed of solve process issues, ramp up process technology transfer, develop tools to enhance yield or reduce production cost.

OK, we’re done with the introduction of everyone. Let’s look at the agenda. the first item of the agenda is the background and figure out why this s26a project isn’t performing as well as expected. Finally, we’ll clarify some questions and then make some decisions. Let’s move on and discuss.

Let me introduce the background.

Our customer has developed the new next-generation wafer A which is more advanced and looks more competitive than B. it has applied 3d packaging technologies and will offer approximately 10~15% improvements in performance per watt compared to the previous generation wafer. this production is set to be ready from the first quarter of 2022. First of all, I would like to thank you christine who has proposed several experiments, let her introduce these experiments to all of you

Christine(R&D)

In order to select the most optimized process method to confirm all the process characteristics and confirm all the process risks. I’d propose 3 types of methods of dicing method, the first one is dicing after grinding, the second one is dicing before grinding, the third one is stealth dicing before grinding, the last one is laser grooving before dicing. Here the results showed that the first one with a conventional blade saw method, the metal layer has peelings, cracks, chipping. The results with the 2nd & 3rd methods observed delimitation after the reliability test. The best solution is the last one with laser grooving before dicing. Experimental results have shown that dicing before applying laser grooving can significantly minimize the dicing defects. R&D strongly suggested adding the laser grooving process before dicing. however, there is a very limited laser grooving machine in our production line. Therefore I have requested the process engineer to confirm if any possibility to improve the process method.

Ok, let me present the test results by different process methods here, here you can see by slowing down dicing speed can significantly decrease the defect rate. The original cutting speed is 3000 rpm(rotation per minute), all of these results showed that at least need to increase to 10,000 rpm to reduce all the defect modes.

Tery(Process Integration Engineer)

I see your point, however, I don’t think the idea of evaluating this new test method is a not good idea or if it is beneficial to our company. If the new test method has been implemented, this will impact all our production volume capacity. You might want to consider that if the unit per hour has been lower at least triple times, it may impact other customer’s production lines and the lead time will be longer.

To be honest, I’m not sure about this idea. Tomy, but could you elaborate on how this will fit with our existing marketing campaigns?

As I said before, this S26A process has more challenging than the previous generation wafer when its technology fast scaling down in node size where the low-k dielectric is used. If this project has been launched successfully, our company will have at least 60% cost benefit per unit. 

Fany(Sales)

I see your point, however, I don’t think the idea of implementing laser grooving resources has a benefit for both customers and our company. How about we ask our customer to purchase the dedicated laser grooving machine for this project, it might not bring any impact to another customer, I also try to negotiate with our customer to increase the unit price for the new process implementation requirements.

    She is 2 years older than me.  She is the youngest Prime Minister to handle New Zealand the toughest time encountering a terrorist attack, a natural disaster, and a global pandemic. This made her become the most influential leader in the world for the year 2021. Her charismatic leadership has won the majority support during the second-term general election in 2021.
    In March of 2019, the terrible terrorist attack has killed many innocent people. She offered condolences to Christchurch to meet the victims. After less than a month, she passed a law that bans most semiautomatic weapons and assault rifles, and all the related parts, the law which is totally different from US policies.
    Regarding the pandemic COVID-19, she reacted faster than other countries to block foreigners and must be quarantined at least 14 days before entering the countries, this reduces the transmission rate of this infectious disease.
    In terms of climate change, she required the public sector to buy only electric or hybrid vehicles. The pledges have been seen to introduce carbon-cutting policies that would put the country on track to meet its emission targets.
    She showed his genuine, empathetic, humorous, and honesty aside from one's won need. Her communication style such as tweeting, updating Instagram photos, seeks to empower her followers at every juncture.

Talk about my favorite fruits-Durian

     

    Durian is the most nutritious food in the world, that's rich in fiber, Vitamin B & C, and healthy plant compounds. I think I am so lucky that I lived in Southeast Asian, which can taste the natural desserts in both sweet and savory flavors   

    When I looked back on my childhood, I wondered how I loved to eat durian in my grandparent's house. They planted a lot of durian tress on their estate, when we visited them during Chinese New Year, they provided the durian buffet to welcome us. All of our family members loved to eat them. Sometimes we replaced durians as a normal diet for lunch or dinner meal. 

    In order to reduce the side effects of body temperature rising or getting sore throat, our grandparents teach us to cast some clean water on the spiky shell and drink. After drinking the water through the spiky shell, you will feel refreshing and did not get hot in your body.

    Even though I have been living in Taiwan, I rarely buy durians during the hot seasons, because it may cost an arm and a leg out of Southeast Asians area. 

Describe about climate change

    

    According to the recent historical long period drought, devastating flooding everywhere, forest fires which are induced by heat waves, and intense storms. All of this extreme climate change was a wake-up call for all nations' government.

    Carbon dioxide emissions are the primary driver of global climate change. People needs to urgently reduce emission, not matter countries, governments or individuals, all of us is responsible to save this planet.

    I felt sad and worried about why so many people do not aware about the climate changes anymore, they still burn joss paper(ghost money) to the "hungry ghost" as the gates of hell are opened on that day. Even though they have many children or descendent at home, but they still do not aware this issue and continue to teach them to celebrate this festival regularly.

      The equation, a one-degree rise in temperature has a potential to give the region a 7 percent increase in the intensity of rainfall. The Earth poles are increasing in temperature at 2 to 3 times the rate of the equator. The powerful flow of water has also caused landslides, leaving some roads unusable if not completely washed away. The current system in this world is too broken and all policies are out of  control.

    The mindset controlled by myself is crucial to everyone, the small action such as buying the electrical car, using the solar panel on the root of your house, to be a vegetarian or seldom to take the meat as daily meal

    For government policies are accounted a lot, they are obligated to enforce policies, such as green building, the political phrases which emphasized recovery economic plan such as solar panel, wind turbine energy, reusable energy or electrical appliances. The unnecessary religious celebration need to be cancelled or prohibited such as "Ghost Festival Day" or " Moon Festival" not to emit or release any CO2, even though the effects may be very minor but still can have little improvement for our living life.

    

Talk about my childhood games

    Since I was a kid, my parents cannot afford us to buy any toys at home, we must invent games or found something interesting to entertain ourself, such as playing cats at my neighbor's house, racing bicycle with my neighbor's child, and turning flag eraser while feel boring on studying. During the break time, some of my classmates put all their new country flag erasers on a table, they will take a nudge and flip their eraser toward opponent's eraser, if the land of country flag on the other one, the top one conquered the opponent's and won it. It was funny when we want to collect some special and beautiful flag erasers. 

    The elementary school which I studied far about 2km from my home, there is a big lawn outside of my school. The most famous childhood games around there is Chinese jumping rope. It is easy to do, old-fashioned fun, and great exercise for all the kids. This game require at least 3 participants to join this game, sometimes we can follow the rhymes, if desired. the rope can be swung by 2 players at a regular speed in length or tied into a circle depends on the way you want to play. We always laugh at doing errors when the middle player fail to accomplish a series of movements. The position of the string will be raised if the player has succeed, from ankle to waist and higher until to the top of the ears. 

    Since my father changed his job from carpenter to newspaper vendor, the rubber bands scattered around our home and become unnecessary sometimes. I could make many jumping ropes with rubber bands and gave some to my classmates. my classmates loved to befriend with me because I could provide a lot of rubber bands or jumping rope to them. We also like to play jumping rope when we took the lunch break at the small hill of my school.

    From my point of view, jumping rope activity has been influenced my athletic's ability, I played well in basketball, volleyball, running and swimming, and etc. This game is the most memorable game in my life.

Describe my hometown-Ampang

    I lived in a small town, Ampang village far from the city since I was born. I have been lived there almost 20 years. My town is such a quiet and boring place, such like a ghost place.  As my home was located near to the end of the road, there are very few cars crossing by my home. There lived many elderly people. They love to wander around the basketball court far from my house about 1km. They would like play mahjong or chatting with their friends or neighbors on the bench around the it. 

    

    Ampang is famous of the "Nine Emperor Gods Temple". There are countless devotees come to worship their Gods during the period of nine days of the ninth lunar month. My elementary Ampang was next to this temple, I used to find my new adventure tour when the worshipping began. The most exciting way is to buy some tortoise buns or watch the traditional drama.

    Many eaters also would like to taste the Ampang most famous food "Yong Tau Fu", the Hakka Chinese cuisine consisting primarily of tofu filled with ground meat mixture or fish paste. It can eaten in numerous ways, either dry with sauces or served as soup dish. Most of my distant relatives always been invited to taste the food here when they dropping by.

    I am not quite like this place as the transportation here is not too convenient. Since I was studying the high school in the city, I used to take my school buy and need to wake up before 5:30am. If I missed my school bus, I had to take 2 buses between terminals and consumed about one and half hour to arrive my school. After arriving at the bus station, I still need to walk about 15~20 minutes to my school. It was exhausting and knackered. Every Sunday, I also had to take an hour to the church in city and my most of weekend spent in my church with my friends.

    With the development of the economy, there is a lot of change in this past 2 decades.  The basketball court has been covered by a roof, a lot of eaters around the court, the Ampang has been refurnished, there is a small orphan house and a retirement home along the busy street.

    I reckon that I am not quite like my hometown, but I still want to live there when I am getting older to protect my old house. There is still has a lot of good memories to be remembered.

What kind of accommodation do you prefer when you travel?

    I am lucky enough to travel every province in malaysia since i was a kid. I had travelled Kedah, Pulau Pinang, Ipoh, Shah Alam, Seremban, Melaka, Johor Baharu, Bentung, Kuantan, Terengganu with my whole family. Domestic hotel or chalet is predominantly and common in Malaysia, in addition to the hostel and camping are not suitable for family gathering. My mother used to reserve a double room which vary in price and also vary in star level accordingly, under range between rm50~300, predominantly 3~5 stars hotel

prices varied by different location, the cheapest form of accommodation mostly in more remote regions but usually offer a level of comfort and variety services. I recalled that we stayed in a 5 star hotel which has promotional discount in an isolated island but providing canoe, hiking tour guide, golf activities, gym fitnesses and other sports accessories. We did a lot of sightseeing and had spent a wonderful and stunning vacation over there. Most of the time, we just reserved double room with double king size bed to accommodate 6 people of us, though the standard doubles only can accommodate up to four people. Sometimes we need to sleep on the couch or on the floor depends on the size of the room.

    Nowadays, I have been grown up as an adult and I recognized that this behavior was prohibited by some hotel especially in Japan and Taiwan when my family traveled to Taiwan, at least 2 double room will be booked for 4~5 people, and will add extra bed if not enough as the weather is very cold and higher humidity, each of us must have our blankets to avoid to get a cold. we had explored all the wonderful places in the middle of winter time, which is chilly and damp especially in Taipei. On the plus side, the weather during Chinese new year is perfect for visiting these amazing hot springs in Beitou, and we also went to catch some cherry blossoms in Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village! 

About my traveling alone in Japan

    

    

    I never travel alone before 2017, sometimes I relied to my family, my friends or relatives to arrange travel itinerary to somewhere. This is a good chance to let myself indulge myself fully. Solo travel may become dangerous or perils if I traveling by myself in a country which has security concern. Therefore I think traveling in Japan would be a good starting point or heady stuff. 

    Before departure, anything need to be well prepared, to arrange an detailed itinerary, to reserve a hotel which is safe and cheaper, or to online book the transportation tickets. All of this arrangement was prepared by myself, if any mistake happened, you cannot blame others, you need to solve it by yourself, and all the triumph is mine. I had not to worry my companion if could trekking all the way across for long distance to a designated location. 

        I reserved a single room in a hotel located in the heart of entertainment district, value for business and sightseeing with plenty of shops and restaurants in the surrounding area. It is an ultimate self-indulgence experience to try the beef tongue with a beautiful texture and the excellent of wine which let me have a feeling of luxury.

    On the third day in my vacation, I waked up very early to get the first bus to Kyoto traditional handcrafted market in Tadasu Forest. This forest is a part of world heritage.Some vendors sold their food in truck, some in tents. I bought some amazing and unique handmade crafts from the market which is something that I cannot get from the high-end products. There are also a wide variety of food or beverage drinks sold as well. I enjoyed to try some coffee, beverage drinks or cake. 

I have learned a little bit Japanese language for a year,  I still can understand a little Japanese words or understand their language. So I had befriend some shopkeeper or waiter in my journey.

Every cloud has a silver lining

    Since I was child lived in Malaysia, the multi-ethnic country, which  predominately Muslim population, there is an undeniable truth that Malay must lead the country. Since the former leader had lost his majority support among members of parliament, the national recovery plan reinitialized by the new leader, which means all eaters are allowed to be open even though the COVID-19 cases surged to over 20,000 per day. To make matters worse, victims are increasing and ICU had occupied with the serious, critical patients.

    I am of the opinion that we must take steps in two respects-through the authorities concerned and  through the public. First of all, I strongly recommend that the authorities concerned should find the solutions how to acquire the more vaccination jabs as more as possible. Get the faster vaccination rate to achieve the herd immunity to stop the spreading the disease from person to person. What we should do next is that we ought to be inoculated regardless of which brand of if. Of course, in addition to he effort of government, being careful is the best policy. Imagine this, how sad it would be if all your relatives, friends, or colleagues to be infected the virus and quarantine alone until recovering. Simple precautions must be taken: wearing a mask, physical distancing, avoiding crowds, cleaning your house.

    I am used to stay at home and keep social distancing with my neighborhood for at least 3 months already. I can say I can adapt this situation for a long time as I keep writing an essay a day, reading some books and exercising with my dogs while walking outside, and eating at home. I know I am not too intelligent or brilliant person, but I am willing to put some more efforts to improve my skills, language or thinking. In one day, I will be the person could be success in a way which is more than my expectation.

    Don't be too pessimistic about your intimidating environment, some sad news you heard, just focus on what things you can bring or you can do. Worrying too much cannot  heighten the way of your life.
