Hydrophilic vs hydrophobic

Hydrophilic: Dissolve in water, water is polar and hydrophilic substances break down to be surrounded by water, which means the ability to mix well, dissolve, or be attracted to water.

Hydrophobic: Do not dissolve in water, resistant to or avoid wetting

Within the electronic products, some coating is requested to keep water away from the components inside of devices. A good coating can roll away water and keep conductors alive long enough.

Liquids made up of polar molecules are really good at dissolving solids that are composed of polar or ionic compounds
