Cognitive fusion means that you belief or tendency to think the way that you constantly agree with. This thinking patterns may jeopardize your behavior or your relationship with the people around you. This is because you will be easily feel anxious or feel yourself awkward and low self-esteem.
A Youtuber, “Ray Du" has experienced the cognitive fusion, he has story about a person told him " You are disgusting". He might think that people didn't like me, and I will never be happy. His fusion with rules in thinking "people must love me" will lead to anxious and unworthy to live anymore.
In general, we are constantly make judgements to other people. That judgement will affect our behaviors, thinking, and emotions. You cannot live at the present because you always remain at the past negative memories. "Don't judge a book by its cover".
Cognitive defusion is a process of learning that your thought is just a thought. This will lead you to let the thought go away easily and live at the moment. If the thought is not helpful for your thinking or emotion, just let it go.
