I grew up in a strict environment, where being punctual is a respect behavior or showing your responsibility to the society.
I
had a vivid memory, when I was learning English in a tuition class on the
second floor of an older building, my teacher usually took a lot of shirt clips
and punished the students who were late to class or failed the exam before
leaving the class. I was too afraid of being scolded by the witch teacher or my
ears were hardly pinched with the shirt clips when I was studying. My head was
spinning or easily anxious after being pinched after thirty minutes.
In my elementary school, if a student was
late to the convention hall, he should be punished by standing in the back of
hall. It allows all the teachers and students keeping an eye on you, it was
visible to all the persons who walked passing through the door of the hall. It
is a cruel punishment because it hurt my feelings to stand in one place for a
long time.
When I grew up in high school, I used to
take a school bus in every early morning. I had to get up before 5:30am and run
as fast as possible to reach to the bus station in order to catch the bus in
5:40am. If I failed, I had to take the bus, at least two transitions with 30
minutes to get to my school. Therefore, I had a body clock on that period, I
could automatically wake up without clock warming.
