The importance of cyber security

    Cybersecurity is vital for any communication to occur over the internet. There is a constant threat of session hijacking looming. Last year, Taiwan announced that the major oil manufacturing manufacturer has been infected with ransomware, causing payment issues at gas issues, whereas my company, a semiconductor firm, also reported a ransomware attack a month later.

    The story started from when employees’ computers tried to access the network on their working day, a message later appeared, stating that their files had been encrypted and demanding a ransom of US$3000 to unlock them.

    In my opinion, I reckon that some security companies should be permitted to monitor all the visited websites on the internet in order to hinder access into inappropriate links, or control the access points. Otherwise , public awareness should be enhanced as much as possible, with some practice or training to recognize more deceitful ways or tricky methods to avoid workers connecting to the untruthful resource. IT is also responsible to encrypt some very important documents to protect our customer privacy information or any related confidential business or any in the form of certificates.
